A Love Affair!

I called into a craft shop the other day to pick up my order of weave-line and fell in love with some Tilda fabrics and knew I would just have to bring some of it home with me.

I also got a new selection of Cottage Garden Threads as well and they make a delightful addition to my stash.

I immediately wanted to start a new project and found a stitchery design from one of my Candlewicking books ( yes I used to do that too) and started stitching. I think I will turn this one into a table centre and maybe it'll go into the birthday box and maybe it won't!

Love the subtle colours of this thread called Apricot Ice. The green is Cottage Garden also and is called Pea Soup. I think I am having a love affair with these variegated threads and the lovely Tilda fabrics.

Trouble in the Hen House!

An egg thief came visiting the other day.........he/she was most unwelcome and I spent some time dealing with this pest to chase it out of our yard! It is a Sand Monitor and was about 1 metre long.

This got into the chook house because when I am home I usually let out some chooks to pick around the yard and it came in through the open gate.

I didn't know whether to be scared or to laugh as the chooks made an awful racket but kept going near to have a look. I finally chased it away and out of the yard. I did have the help of my little band of ducks...........well that's what I liked to think anyway. I think they thought I had the food bucket and only followed me for a feed! LOL!

They had lots to say also, but I think it was along the lines of .." Hey! where's the FOOD"!

Stitching with Friends on Friday!

I met up with friends on Friday and had almost the whole day stitching. I completed Wendy's Best Of Friends stitch a long block 2 and did a little work on my Rosalie Quinlan designs as well.

Wendy's Block 2

I now have two blocks completed.

and because Wendy's blocks are so quick to stitch I also worked on Rosalie's Best Friends Forever blocks as well.

I am up to number 4 of this lot now. Here's a recap on the others.

I'm now heading over to Wendy's blog to check out what everyone else got up to last night. Thanks Wendy for hosting.

Friday Night Sew In.

Tonight I'll be joining with other crafty people for a night of stitching. I'll be stitching block 2 from Wendy's  Best of Friends - Block of the fortnight.

Here is block 1 completed. I didn't want to stitch the word using tiny chain stitch (can't seem to get them small enough to look nice) so I used back stitch instead. It's quick and easy to do and I can't wait to put this one together.

Why not pop on over and sign up here and have a wonderful night stitching with friends. I'll be starting early today and meeting up with friends and doing some stitching, a bit of eating and a lot of laughing.

It Started out as...

When I first saw the applique tea pot of Jenny's I loved it and wanted to make one also. But what started out as applique ended up as stitchery.

I actually traced out the design on Vliesofix and had chosen the fabric, only to change my mind and take off the lid and throw in a bunch of flowers and do it all in thread.

I enjoyed stitching this onto one of my linen tea-towels. Another for the birthday box.!  I am loving being prepared with items to pop in as a little something extra when birthdays come around.

My Little Tilda Bunny.

I have been wanting to make a Tilda bunny for some time now and it was not until someone asked on Face book about a pattern that I realised I actually had the book with a couple of bunny patterns in it! Just goes to show that sometimes we don't know what we already have!

She is such a little cutie that I think she will stay out even though Easter has gone. Wait until my grand daughter sees her............there will probably be a change of address!

Hope everyone had a happy and restful Easter.
