A Cozy Afternoon

I am following along with Jacquelynne Steves' Block of the Month Cozy Afternoon and have completed the first two blocks. As you will see below there are many choices to completing the quilt and I've decided to do the applique method for mine.

For the fabric I am using Rosalie Quinlan's range Chirpy Lola for Ella Blue.

I like the idea that all the cutting is done first and I am storing all the pieces in my block folder.

Can't wait for number 3 now that these two are done.

Monday Finish for Friday Start!

I did stitch with everyone on Friday night just it took me until Monday to finish. A few distractions over the weekend made me a bit late with this post.

I had lots of company while I stitched and watched Better Homes and Gardens! They took turns sitting beside me.

It surely was a mother of a thing to put together without a pattern as I found this idea on Pinterest and really like it so nothing could persuade me from making it up in this design. I found the pattern at one craft shop in the USA only and with no instant download (how spoilt we have become) I didn't want to wait for 3 weeks before making it up!

Thanks Wendy for hosting.

Mixing it Up a Little!

It's been a great weekend with the lovely weather making it so nice to be out in the garden.
In between the lovely rain showers I have been repotting some of my little succulents and cactus.

There was also a little stitching getting done as well. Working on a new table runner featuring different stitchery designs from Jenny's Stitchery Club and Tilda fabric.

Just a bit of peak for now! Will reveal it all when it's all finished!

Keep that Serviette!

Every time I go stitching at a friends home she gives us the most delightful serviettes when serving morning tea and lunch and instead of using mine I always stash it away in my sewing bag. They are just too pretty to use!

I have seen different things done with serviettes on Pinterest ! So I thought why not have a go!

Rocks from the garden cleaned and ready to be made into something pretty.

They make gorgeous pieces of whimsy and every time I look at them I think of good times with friends and it makes me smile.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.

A Little Something For My Friends!

I found a great tutorial for making collapsible thread catchers on Youtube the other day and decided to make some for my friends. As we all love stitching I knew it would come in handy, especially when travelling.

It's only about 3.5 inches high and folds up for travelling. One finished can of Pringles can make quite a few!

You can find the tutorial here! Of course I forgot to take pictures of the other ones I made so you will just have to believe me when I say they are very easy to make and look great!

Looking forward to the weekend.
